Movies on the Cheap

moviesWith long hot summer days here, the movies are an excellent place to stay cool. With skyrocketing ticket prices, it can be hard to find enough change in the couch. Don’t rule them out just yet. Our team has discovered a couple of great options for enjoying the big screen without breaking the (piggy) bank.

1. See them before they come out

Sign up for a screening group and you could see Funny People before Adam Sandler finishes delivering his lines. Cool sites like The Screening Exchange are good for the lazy ones among us who can’t be bothered to talk to the guy in the mall handing out flyer invitations. That’s right- people are actually inviting you to see movies for free. Pretty sweet.

2. See them early in the day

Culver Plaza Theatres in Culver City is just $5 before 5pm. Even The Grove has movies for under $9 if you go in the morning. You’re a bum…what else are you going to do at noon?

3. Do some research

That means keep reading RFB, by the way. Regency Charter Theater in Huntington Beach is $3 all day. That’s right. And they sell $1 hot dogs. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
