Relax with Latin Sounds every Saturday from May through September at the Dorothy Collins Brown Amphitheater in Hancock Park (the park, not the neighborhood, at LACMA, just north of the museum) as world-renowned artists play the hottest sounds from Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Mexico, Cuba, and Los Angeles. This week is Ciro Hurtado.

Ciro Hurtado is a guitarist-composer from Peru who has been actively performing since the early seventies and is one of the founding members and musical director of Huayucaltia. As a solo artist he has produced and recorded six albums, including In My Mind and Tales from Home, on ROM Records. He was awarded the prestigious Durfee Master Musician Fellowship in 2001 and 2004. "Hurtado combines the dexterity and elegance of the Spanish Classicists with the romantic imperative of South America."—Musician Magazine.
