Celebrating its 14th season spectacular of skating under the sun and stars at picturesque Pershing Square, City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks presents Pershing Square Outdoor Concert and Event Center "Downtown on Ice" Outdoor Holiday Skating Rink at Pershing Square 2011/2012.

Get your glide on this holiday season at DOWNTOWN ON ICE, where the coolest fun gets underway on LA’s biggest outdoor rink with the smallest admission price of just $6 for admission and $2 for skate rental. As a Southland tradition and favorite holiday destination/staycation, the community rink boasts a medley of FREE events, including the “12 Nights of Christmas Music Series,” the Winter Holiday Festival with Santa, his “live” reindeer and tons of real snow, Lunch & Munch concerts, Menorah Lighting and Kwanzaa celebrations, championship skating exhibitions, charity broomball games, and more.

Framed by towering skyscrapers and stunning historical landmarks, the spacious rink has become the number one winter destination for families, thanks to sponsorship from the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, and Councilmember Jan Perry (9th District).

Centrally located in the heart of the City of Angels at the Pershing Square Metro stop, the facility is easily accessible by car, bus or train. A partnership with Metro and Montebello bus lines allows riders to receive a discount on skating sessions. Underground parking is discounted with validation.

Now you can save $1 on the already low admission when you show your valid Metro pass, Metro Rail ticket or Destination Discounts card at the entrance, or bring in the discount coupon. Take the Red or Purple Line and exit Pershing Square Station to get your glide on.
